New team member
Sorry about the lack of updates, but we've just added a new member to the
team - ok, so he's only 3 weeks old but Dominic's new son will be fully trained
in spanner usage!
The problem with the engine has been traced to oil starvation at the big end
bearings due to oil being diverted to the underside of the pistons for cooling.
This design problem is now being worked on and we should have a working engine
back soon!
Our thoughts are now turning to the 2004 season, and currently we are
planning to return to the original lighter Ford Pepperpot alloy wheels.
Unfortunately this means we will have to run on a 175 width tyre rather than the
wider 185, and also on a slightly different compound; but since the Pepperpot's
are each 4kg lighter than the RS Turbo wheels this should translate into better
handling and acceleration.
The Re-shell has also been postponed for the time being and we shall just
patch up the car for the next season. This is just purely down to being
lazy and having a baby in the house taking up all the spare time!

Shell planning
Currently the car is sitting in the garage awaiting the attentions of the
engine builder after it's disappointing behaviour in the last race at Snetterton.
Once rejuvenated, we plan to reshell the car over the winter period with
something less rusty! Despite looking immaculate on the outside the car
has seriously corroded inner wings, chassis rails and anti-roll bar mounts - too
much work to repair.
